Wednesday, 24th June saw the 6th Annual A*STARS (Active Sustainable Travel And Road Safety) Inter School Quiz take place in Walsall’s Town Hall. After completing quizzes against their classmates, each school on the A*STARS programme was invited to enter a team to compete for the coveted A*STARS trophy. The competition was fierce, with 23 schools in attendance and teachers and parents looking on in support.
At the end of the quiz, the children were treated to a show about road safety and sustainability by the Big Wheel Theatre Company, while members of the Traffic Safety & Operations Team marked the answers to determine this year’s winner.
After 3 rounds of questions, Delves Junior School emerging as victors, with Blackwood Junior and Emmanuel School in 2nd and 3rd places respectively. The Mayor of Walsall, Cllr Angela Underhill, was on hand to award the trophy to the winning team.
