A leisure cycle ride (LCR) is a one-off activity around the vicinity of the school that is designed to help pupils associate cycling with the journey to school by undertaking a led cycle ride. Sessions normally last about 2 hours including a break half way. The session is normally led by a Road Safety Tutor and is supported by school staff and sometimes parents as well. Ideally, pupils will have undertaken some form of cycle training before the ride takes place.
